Bitcoin is a kind of venereal disease, says right-hand man Warren Buffett
It was already known that Warren Buffett and his right-hand man Charlie Munger should not have anything to do with cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin (BTC) . Yesterday, however, billionaire Munger went one step further with besmirching crypto. He called it “a kind of venereal disease.”
Conservative Billionaire Doesn’t Like Bitcoin
Munger made his wild statements in a Q&A session at the annual Daily Journal meeting in Los Angeles, United States. At a certain point, the conversation turned to crypto, a market that no one can really ignore anymore due to the enormous growth over the past few years. However, the billionaire, who is vice-chairman of Berkshire Hathaway and known as Warren Buffett’s right-hand man, has nothing to say for now:
I certainly have not invested in crypto. I am proud of the fact that I avoided it. It’s like a venereal disease.
That Munger doesn’t like it is perhaps not entirely surprising given his age. He is in fact 98 years old. It is understandable that at such an age you no longer make risky investments. It is of course a pity that the billionaire has to use such words to smear crypto.
US should have banned crypto right away like China
Later, the billionaire went even further. He stated that the US should completely ban crypto and that he admires China for its crypto ban. However, despite China’s ban, crypto has grown steadily.
Elon Musk lashes out
The fact that the best man has enormous wealth does not necessarily mean that he is always right. Elon Musk said in response to the news that in 2009 during a luncheon, the billionaire told everyone all the ways Tesla was going to fail. A little more than 10 years later, it is clear that Munger was completely wrong.
