Drake bets over $1 million in bitcoin on Super Bowl

Canadian rapper Drake has bet over $1 million in bitcoin (BTC) on the upcoming Super Bowl. The Super Bowl is the final of the American Football season and this year is between the Los Angeles Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals. Drake is betting everything on the Rams and their wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

Drake shared his bets on Instagram . There it could be seen that he had wagered considerable amounts of bitcoin, including on the profit of the team from Los Angeles. It didn’t stop there though. The musician also hopes that one of the star players of the Rams will catch a touchdown pass, among other things. Odell Beckham Jr. must play a big game if it’s a Drake, as the Canadian has bet just under $800,000 on the receiver.

Beckham Jr. made headlines last month. The top athlete will receive his salary this year in bitcoin. A theme that has recently been discussed more and more, but which is certainly not without risk. ‘OBJ’ also knows that by now. At the time his contract was signed, the BTC rate was a lot higher than it is now.

Crypto and the Super Bowl

Crypto and the Super Bowl are not going together for the first time. Now it happens to be a well-known artist who bets exorbitant amounts of money on the contest, but the two topics have gone together before. For example, there are several large crypto exchanges that will advertise during the Super Bowl . The sports final is known as the largest one-day sports event in the world and is therefore very much watched. Large companies also like to grab their commercials to share with the general public. Crypto exchanges FTX and Crypto.com thought the same. Advertising during the Super Bowl is not cheap, by the way. A 30 second commercial break can easily cost between $5 and $6.5 million.
