1. Sydney International Student Award

The Sydney International Student Award is a celebration of the university’s diverse and talented student community. The award grants a 20% discount for the entire duration of the course to applicants from South and Central America. (There are also scholarships for students from Africa and specific Asian countries.)

To compete, you need:

  • Be an international student from an eligible country (Brazil is on the list);
  • Receive an offer of full admission to an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at the University of Sydney beginning in 2023 (with the exception of MBA and EMBA);
  • Not be an Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia or New Zealand.

The application works like this: during your online application for an undergraduate or postgraduate study at the University of Sydney, you will be asked to select your nationality. If you are a citizen of an eligible country, the site will ask you to submit a personal statement following a specific template provided by the university.

In this essay, you should include a number of topics:

  • Who are you? (200 words);
  • What inspired you to apply to the University of Sydney? (200 words);
  • What do you want to achieve with university studies or how can it help you achieve your goals? (200 words).

Therefore, it is important first to do your research about the university and the reasons that led you to choose to apply for a place there. Then just send the personal statement with your registration and wait for the answer.

If you are admitted to the course and selected for the Award, you will receive notice when you receive your offer of admission by email. The discount will already be applied to your tuition fee stated in your admission letter.

2. Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship

“A Scholarship for Exceptional International Students”, Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship grants an A$40,000 discount to high-performing applicants.

No separate application is required, just apply for a course at the University of Sydney. All eligible students who have secured an unconditional offer of admission within the deadlines are automatically considered. The dates for the second half of 2022 are: September 1, 2022, November 1, 2022, and January 12, 2021.

Selection of fellows is based on academic merit as assessed from the student’s application for admission to an undergraduate or graduate degree.

The Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship has four different values ​​according to the student’s selection and performance criteria:

  • A$40,000 for one year of studies (paid in two installments, one each semester);
  • A$20,000 for one semester;
  • A$10,000 for one semester;
  • A$5,000 for one semester.
