Recently, Tesla CEO Elon Musk asked McDonalds to accept Dogecoin in a tweet, but the fast-food giant laughed off the suggestion by jokingly urging to accept “Grimacecoin.”

Shortly after, in a new blog post from Shiba Inu developer Shytoshi Kusama, an announcement was made to partner with an Italian fast-food chain called Welly’s. The restaurant has undergone a complete rebrand with the Shiba Inu dog becoming the new mascot and has a new slogan that refers to the creator of the meme coin. SHIB will be accepted as a means of payment and has the rival meme coin Dogecoin (DOGE) as another payment option.

The restaurant plans to have healthy fast-food options at the opening of its first flagship restaurant, the first of which will be in Naples, to reach all audiences. The change in marketing strategy and approach clearly points to a collaboration with the meme coin that achieved its greatness through marketing and clearly has grand plans to make it even more colossal.

Proving not to be a one-hit wonder, this partnership says it has even bigger plans and is coming out with a message that developers have also suggested implementing blockchain-based food tracking with the help of Shibarium, a yet-to-be-launched solution.

Other fast food chains are also getting hungry for the cryptocurrency community and are trying to attract it through more avenues by sailing on the memes of the meme coin.
